Welcome to JR Santa Luzia - A Peaceful Algarve Escape, a home filled with love, memories, and generations of family tradition in the beautiful fishing village of Santa Luzia, Tavira.

This house belonged to Avó Lizete and Avô João, who lived here for many wonderful years. It was always more than just a home, it was the heart of our family. A place where children grew up, cousins played together endlessly during summer holidays, and generations gathered around the table sharing stories, laughter, and unforgettable meals.

Avó Lizete was known for cooking the most amazing Portuguese food, filling the house with the comforting aromas of traditional Algarve recipes made with love. Meanwhile, Avô João enjoyed spending warm summer evenings on the outdoor varanda, surrounded by family, neighbours, friends, and the peaceful atmosphere of Santa Luzia.

For our family, this home became a cherished holiday retreat, a place of connection, joy, and simple Algarve living. Today, we are proud to share it with guests from around the world, hoping you too can experience the warmth, calm, and authentic spirit that make this house so special. Whether you are here to relax by the sea, explore Tavira and the Ria Formosa, or simply slow down and enjoy peaceful evenings under the Algarve sky, we hope you feel at home here, just as our family always has.

Located on the peaceful Rua de Angola in the heart of Santa Luzia, this home places you within walking distance of everything that makes this charming Algarve village so special.

Known as the “Octopus Capital” of Portugal, Santa Luzia is a traditional fishing village full of authentic local character, relaxed seaside atmosphere, and excellent Portuguese restaurants.

Here, life moves slowly mornings begin with coffee at the local cafés, afternoons are spent by the water, and evenings come alive with warm summer air, fresh seafood, and sunset strolls along the waterfront. From the house, guests can easily walk to: The beautiful waterfront promenade and marina, traditional seafood and Portuguese restaurants, local cafés, bakeries, and small shops Supermarkets and daily essentials, ferry and boat access to Praia da Terra Estreita and nearby beaches.

The stunning beaches of Terra Estreita and Barril are only a short boat ride or bike ride away, offering golden sand, crystal-clear water, and peaceful natural surroundings within the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Getting Around Santa Luzia is perfect for exploring on foot or by bicycle. Most places in the village are only a few minutes away, making it ideal for a relaxed and car-free stay.

Tavira town centre is approximately 10 minutes by car or taxi Faro Airport is around 35–40 minutes by car.
